“That’s so weird” 🤔

A very common phrase I hear when people first start working with me.

To which I reply, “Weird or Unfamiliar?”

“YES, Unfamiliar!!” said in a tone of childlike curiosity.

When your nervous system suddenly experiences calm instead of anxiety, self-trust instead of self-doubt, emotional safety instead of hypervigilance, the brain doesn’t recognise the UNKNOWN experience.

If THIS window of transformation isn’t integrated with awareness, the nervous system will recalibrate back to the programmed familiar state…regardless of how painful, frustrating, or self-sabotaging it may be.

It’s the KNOWN.

Feeling metabolizes unresolved emotion, unlocking relived memories and tormenting cycles. 🌀

In a world where we have become overstimulated and under integrated we are seeing unprecedented levels of anxiety, neurodiversity and mental health issues that could become a global nemesis or evolutionary leap in human consciousness. 🌏💫

Ancient Buddhist teachings share that an emotional trigger can be processed 90 seconds, interestingly neuroscience now concurs. 🧘🧬

Emotional regulation is so much more than simply “managing your state.”

It is an active internal process that influences your relationships, decisions, wellbeing, leadership, and quality of life.

Yet so few people have been taught how to truly embody this fundamental human skill.

Imagine if “How to Be Human” was taught in schools and emotional triggers were understood as invitations into transformation, growth, and deeper self-awareness, not flaws.

Transformation wouldn’t be the exception; it would become the norm.

Your job, to welcome the “unfamiliar feelings” as the weird and wonderful playground of accessing sustained inner freedom, peace and contentment. ☯️🙇❤️
